Rezoning for Hotel at Arrowood and Sandy Porter Roads
Community Meeting on May 7 at Old Masonic Lodge

(April 29, 2008) The developers of Whitehall Corporate Center are requesting approval of a site plan amendment for property on the southeast corner of Arrowood Road and Sandy Porter Road. The change would allow construction of a hotel with up to 135 rooms and a maximum height of 60 feet. The tree buffer along Sandy Porter Road would be preserved. A new road connecting Whitehall Park Drive and Sandy Porter Road is under construction, but it is proposed to be right-in-right-out on Sandy Porter Road. See Petition 2008-090.

Attorneys representing the petitioner have issued the following invitation to a community informational meeting:

Subject: Community Meeting -- Rezoning Petition No. 2008-090 filed by Moody Lake Office Park Development Limited Partnership to rezone approximately 7.06 acres located on the southeast comer of W. Arrowood Road and Sandy Porter Road, from the B-l(CD) and 0-2(CD) zoning districts to the B-2(CD) and 0-2(CD) Site Plan Amendment zoning districts

Date of Meeting: Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.

Place of Meeting: The building formerly known as the Steele Creek Masonic Lodge located at 9424 Steele Creek Road

Petitioner: Moody Lake Office Park Development Limited Partnership

We are assisting Moody Lake Office Park Development Limited Partnership (the "Petitioner") in connection with a Rezoning Petition it has filed with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission seeking to rezone an approximately 7.06 acre Site located on the southeast comer of W. Arrowood Road and Sandy Porter Road from the B-l(CD) and 0-2(CD) zoning districts to the B-2(CD) and 0-2(CD) Site Plan Amendment zoning districts. The purpose of this rezoning request is to provide the owner of the Site with the option of locating a hotel on that portion of the Site designated as Parcel A and to revise the height limitations on the Site.

The Petitioner will hold a Community Meeting prior to the Public Hearing on this Rezoning Petition for the purpose of discussing this rezoning proposal with nearby property owners and organizations. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission's records indicate that you are either a representative of a registered neighborhood organization or an owner of property that adjoins, is located across the street from, or is near the site.

Accordingly, on behalf of the Petitioner, we give you notice that representatives of the Petitioner will hold a Community Meeting regarding this Rezoning Petition on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the building formerly known as the Steele Creek Masonic Lodge located at 9424 Steele Creek Road. Representatives of the Petitioner look forward to sharing this rezoning proposal with you and to answering any questions you may have with respect to this matter.
