STEELE CREEK NEWS

Public Meeting on New Retail Center at 49/160 Corner is May 18

(May 11, 2004) Childress Klein Properties has applied for rezoning of an 86-acre site on the southeast corner of York Road (Hwy 49) and Steele Creek Road (Hwy 160). The petition and site plan are available on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission's web site. (See Link to Rezoning Petition 2004-064.)

Childress Klein will hold a public meeting on Tuesday May 18 at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church (15000 York Road) at 7:00 P.M. Steele Creek neighbors will have an opportunity to view the plans and ask questions of Childress Klein representatives.

Read more about the plans in the April 20 News Story.

Direct questions about the rezoning application to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission at 704-336-2205.

(Directions to Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church: From the intersection of Highway 49 (York Rd) and Highway 160 (Steele Creek Road) follow Highway 49 south. The church is about 2 miles on the right. It is just before the entrance to McDowell Nature Preserve and 1.3 miles from Buster Boyd Bridge. Be alert in the area due to new highway construction.)
