School Board Adopts "Southwest Middle School" as the Name of the New Southwest Middle School

(April 8,  2003) Principal Michael Shrader and parents and students representing the new middle school community presented three suggested names for consideration by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board at its April 8 meeting. The names suggested were Crossroads Middle School, Walker's Creek Middle School, and Southwest Middle School.

The board unanimously adopted "Southwest Middle School" as the name of the new school.
