Know Your Districts for 2026

(March 4, 2026)Steele Creek has seven precincts, which are split into multiple political districts. For the 2026 Election, these include United States Congress, North Carolina Senate, North Carolina House of Representatives, and Mecklenburg County Commission.

Initial redistricting was completed in November 2021, including Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners, but districts for North Carolina Senate and North Carolina House of Representatives were revised by the General Assembly in October 2023, and districts for US Congress were revised in October 2025.

The next election will be held November 3, 2026.

United States Congressional Districts

The North Carolina General Assembly adopted the districts for United States Congress on October 22, 2025. Precincts 138, 147, and 228 are in Congressional District 12, which is entirely in Mecklenburg County, and Precincts 122, 229, 230, and 243 are in Congressional District 14, along with other parts of Mecklenburg County, Burke County, Cleveland County, Gaston County, and part of Polk County.

North Carolina State Senate Districts  

The North Carolina General Assembly adopted districts for the North Carolina Senate on October 25, 2023.

All Steele Creek precincts are in Senate District 39. For more information see https://www.ncleg.gov/Redistricting.

North Carolina State House Districts  

The North Carolina General Assembly adopted districts for the North Carolina House of Representatives on October 25, 2023. 

Almost all of Steele Creek is in District 92. See more information at https://www.ncleg.gov/Redistricting.

Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners

The Mecklenburg Board of County Commissioners adopted new districts on November 3, 2021. They only moved one precinct (98) from District 2 to District 5. Steele Creek continues to be split, with Precincts 122 and 229 in District 6 and the remaining precincts in District 2.
