Elections for Mayor, City Council, and School Board Districts are in 2025

(June 28, 2025) In 2025, the City of Charlotte will hold elections for mayor and City Council (at-large and district representatives). Mecklenburg County residents will vote for School Board district representatives. Candidate filing is from Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 18, so we won't know the complete slate of candidates until July 18.

City of Charlotte (mayor and City Council) Primary Election Day is Tuesday, September 9. School Board elections are nonpartisan, and there will be no primary. 2025 General Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education

School Board members serve for four year terms. District and at-large representative elections alternate in odd year elections. District representatives will be on the ballot in 2025.

Most Steele Creek precincts are in District 6 with Pineville and Ballantyne precincts. Precincts 78, 138, and 230 are in District 2.

Currently, Thelma Byers-Bailey represents District 2, and Summer Nunn represents District 6.

Charlotte City Council

All of Steele Creek within the Charlotte city limits is within Charlotte City Council District 3, which currently is represented by Tiawana Brown.
