"Yes" Vote
on Park Bonds will Benefit Steele Creek Greenways
(October
22, 2004) On November 2, Mecklenburg County voters will decide on
approval for $69 million bonds for county park and recreation
facilities. Of this, $25 million is earmarked for greenways. There
should be enough funds within that amount to pay for the Steele
Creek and Walkers Branch Greenways, which are part of the county's
Master Greenway Plan.
If approved, the bonds
would be sold over a period of five years, so greenway funding would
not be immediate.
Please visit the polls on
November 2 and vote YES to support greenways and parks in Steele
Creek and throughout Mecklenburg County.
