Join RiverSweep on Lake Wylie September 18

(July 16, 2004) Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Lake Wylie by helping to clean up our precious resource. Join the third annual RiverSweep 2004 on Saturday, September 18.

You can pick up bags and gloves beginning at 9:00 am at the following sites:

  • Buster Boyd Bridge Access (trash collection site)
  • Copperhead Landing
  • Ebenezer Park (trash collection site)
  • Harbortowne Marina
  • McDowell Park
  • River Hills Marina
  • Tega Cay Marina
  • Seven Oaks Bridge
  • Red Fez Club

The Riverkeeper Barge (donated by Edwards Grading) will depart the Lake Wylie Dam at 9:00 am and travel up to pick up collected trash until 12:00 noon. Come to the Buster Boyd access at noon to help unload the barge.

Be sure to wear old clothes and sturdy boots or shoes, and bring a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle.
