Fantastic Fireworks Display on Lake Wylie July 4

(June 27, 2004) The annual Lake Wylie Fantastic Fireworks Display will take place on Sunday, July 4, 2004 beginning at dusk – approximately 9:30 pm – by the Buster Boyd Bridge (where Highway 49 crosses the lake). Best viewing will be at the Buster Boyd Bridge Boat Landing or on the outside deck at T-Bones restaurant.

Duke Power is the premiere sponsor this year in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the original dam that formed the lake that later became Lake Wylie.

The Lake Wylie Community Fireworks Display is funded by donations.  Please send your contribution to:

Lake Wylie's new community radio service, WYLI-LP, 93.7 FM will broadcast a soundtrack to accompany the fireworks display.

The radio broadcast will begin at 9:15 pm with patriotic music and will feature reports on the history of the fireworks at Lake Wylie, an interview with the fireworks event coordinator, and advice for a safe Fourth of July from public safety officers.  During the fireworks, patriotic music will accompany the display. To hear the broadcast, tune your FM radio to 93.7.

WYLI-LP is a non-commercial, listener supported community radio service operated by the Lake Wylie Community Radio Project, a non-profit organization. The station operates with 100 watts and is located at the River Hills Marina. Visit WYLI-LP's website at www.lakeradio.org.
