The Steele Creek YMCA at Ayrsley officially opens its doors on January 25th and residents and corporations in the area are excited about the prospect of a Y presence in Southwest Charlotte. Under the strong leadership of Mike Ferguson, the branch is quickly taking shape and Grand Opening events are well underway. “I am so excited about this branch and the impact it will have on the Steele Creek community. Not only will we have state-of-the-art fitness equipment to keep those New Year’s resolutions in check, but we are also in the process of getting our family programs up and running as well as reaching out to our Asian and Latino communities.” The 17,000 square foot facility located in the new Ayrsley shopping center will be surrounded by fantastic restaurants and shopping and even a future Multiplex cinema. Inside the building, special care has gone in to making an environment that will nourish the spirit as well as the body with vibrant colors, greenery and bright open areas. With Fitlinxx, a computer based interactive training system, yoga, Pilates and spinning classes and free childwatch – the Steele Creek Y will offer something for just about everyone. Our membership drive is well underway and we have a myriad of opportunities available for individuals, families as well as special corporate incentives. We also have a unique opportunity with Charter Memberships where businesses or individual/family members can place a tile in our wall and leave a legacy for years to come! Charter Members will also receive invitations to special celebrations and “sneak preview” events. We are also excited about all of our Grand Opening Celebrations! Plans are in the works for a Corporate Open House and Social on Thursday, January 8th. We would love to showcase a few of the fabulous restaurants in Ayrsley as well as open our doors to local businesses. The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held on Sunday, January 25th. This will be a family event with food, music and lots of celebration! We are looking forward to generating a lot of excitement for both the Steele Creek Y and the Ayrsley Town Center within the community.
