Community Meeting Planned for Rezoning Petition on Township Road

(January 18,  2003) SonShine Construction, Inc. has submitted a rezoning petition (Number 2003-014) covering an approximately 3.8 acre parcel of land on the North Side of Township Road. The property is located on the west side of S Tryon Street (NC Hwy 49) between Sandy Porter Road and Westinghouse Boulevard. It is to the south of Steele Creek Commons Shopping Center and behind the Branch Bank. SonShine will hold a Community Meeting regarding this petition on Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church (9401 South Tryon Street). The church is located on the northeast corner of S Tryon Street and Westinghouse Boulevard.

SonShine has applied for a change from R-17MF to O-1(CD) zoning. The primary purpose of the requested change is to accommodate general or medical office uses. View the rezoning application and site plan online on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission web site.

A public hearing is scheduled for March 17 during the regular Charlotte City Council zoning meeting.
