Rezoning Petitions Now
Available On line
(March 31, 2002) The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission now
posts rezoning applications and related documents on its web site.
Related documents include rezoning maps and site plans, staff
analysis, and Zoning Committee recommendations, as well as comments
by other agencies, such as the School Board, Storm Water Services,
City Engineering, and Charlotte Department of Transportation. Also
listed are contact names, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses.
Go to the Planning
Commission
web page at www.charlotteplanning.org
and select the rezoning link on the left. Petitions are grouped into
logs by year and between Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Logs list
all rezoning petitions, and those since late 2001 are on line. Click
on the petition number in the left column for the detailed
information.
Due to the
extension of Charlotte's extraterritorial planning and zoning
jurisdiction, or ETJ, to cover all of its sphere of influence,
Mecklenburg County no longer has zoning authority over any areas.
The Charlotte City Council reviews all rezoning applications within
the ETJ. The areas within the Steele Creek community are either
within the Charlotte city limits or the ETJ and thus all rezoning
petitions within Steele Creek are reviewed by the City Council.
Recent
applications involving Steele Creek include the following:
