The Southwest Park District of the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department is offering summer day camps at Winget Park (12205 Winget Road, which is off Sledge Road) and an all sports camp at the Renaissance Athletic Complex (1200 West Tyvola Road).

The summer day camp is for children aged 6 to 12. Six one-week sessions will be offered from June 17 to July 26. The theme this year will be "Encountering the Elements." Weekly themes include Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Eco-Challenge, and Energy. Activities include organized games, field trips, arts and crafts, and more!

The cost is $65 per week (trips included) and $55 per week for an additional child. Daily sessions last from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Mail registration begins March 1 and ends March 15. Walk-in registration begins April 2 at the Southwest Park District Office at 1200 West Tyvola Road, Charlotte, NC 28217-4513.
