STEELE CREEK NEWS
Steele Creek Community Place Groundbreaking is March 12
(March 11, 2022) The long-awaited community center is being
developed to provide access for our neighbors to meet, socialize,
and network in an all-in-one safe area.
Saturday, March 12th 11am - 1pm 13501 South Tryon Street,
Charlotte NC 28278
Founding Partners Christ the King Church, the YMCA and Javesca
Coffee are very pleased to present the Steele Creek Community Place.
To celebrate diversity and promote unity, this will be a large,
comfortable environment for all residents of the greater Steele
Creek/Lake Wylie/Fort Mill areas to gather for work, play, support,
interact, and connect. It will offer large spaces for organizations
and corporations to gather for training, meeting, planning, or
providing services to help individuals. It will offer a safe and
comfortable environment for families to interact, play, walk and
learn together. Completion of the Steele Creek Community Place
(SCCP) is expected at the end of 2022.
Come join us as we break ground for our new SCCP on Saturday,
March 12th from 11am to 1pm, hosted by Christ the King Church,
together with the YMCA and Javesca Coffee, a specialty coffee
roaster committed to ending hunger around the world. This
groundbreaking will be effective to raise awareness for our new
community center and if you live in the Steele Creek, Lake Wyle, or
Charlotte communities, this is the place for you to be on March
12th! There will be several inspirational speakers including State
Senator DeAndrea Salvador, State Representative Terry Brown, and our
very own councilwoman, Victoria Watlington. There will be food
trucks, bounce houses, community organization displays, and fun for
the whole family!
