STEELE CREEK NEWS
Intersection Improvements at Hamilton Road and Highway 160 are
Finally Complete!
(October
29, 2021) After many years of waiting and promises of progress, the
Steele Creek Residents Association stepped in to escalate the
completion of the final stages this project within
the Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the North
Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT). With the help of Councilwoman Victoria Watlington, Nan Peterson of the City Planning Department was assigned as a resource to move the project forward in early August. Nearly
three months later, the improved intersection is now fully complete and traffic is flowing safely.
The following photographs were taken on October 29.

The last of the orange barrels were removed today, October 29,
so construction work is now complete and traffic can flow
freely and safely.
The seven and a half acres on the southwest corner (where
the house is) have been rezoned for 32 townhouses. See
Rezoning Petition 2018-077- A site Plan Amendment has been
submitted for this property. See
Rezoninig Petition 2021-075.
