CMS Presents Two Possible Scenarios for High School Attendance
Boundaries Take the Assignment Survey
Here
(May
15, 2021) At a Community Engagement Session on May 6, CMS Planning
Services shared two scenarios for new attendance areas for Olympic
and the new relief high school, which is currently under
construction on York Road adjacent to Palisades Park Elementary
School. Funded by the 2017 bond, the new school will provide relief
for Olympic High School and, potentially, other high schools,
including Harding, and is scheduled to open in fall 2022.
In both scenarios, students in the Nations Ford area will
transfer from Harding to either Olympic or the new high school.
Scenario Green divides the current
Olympic attendance area along Westinghouse Boulevard and minimizes
travel time.

Scenario
Violet creates a better socioeconomic diversity for both schools.

Planning

recommendation to the School Board, and the superintendant will make
his recmmendation at the May 25 School Board meeting. The School
Board also will have a public hearing on the new boundaries at its
May 25 meeting. The School Board should vote on the boundary in
June or July.
