Charlotte Municipal Primary Voting Guide
Early Voting Begins August 22 in Steele Creek
(August
12, 2019) Steele Creek voters who live within the Charlotte city
limits will be
able to vote for Charlotte Mayor, four City Council At-Large seats, and City
Council District 3 in the 2019 Democratic Primary. (There is a
Republican Primary only in City Council District 7.)
Early Voting for the 2019 Primary begins
August 22
at the former Hollywood Video on the corner of S Tryon St and Moss
Rd (11130 S Tryon St). Dates and times are as follows:
Thursday, August 22
and Friday, August 23 - 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM Saturday, August 24 -
9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Sunday, August 25 - 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Monday,
August 26 to Friday, August 30 - 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Saturday, August 31 - 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, September
3 to Friday, September 6 - 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Any Charlotte voter
can vote at any Early Voting Site in Mecklenburg County during Early Voting.
The Primary Election
is on Tuesday, September 10 from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM. Voting is at
each precinct's regular polling location. Note that two polling
locations in Steele Creek have changed. The polling location for
Precinct 230 is now the Berewick Recreation Center (5910 Dixie River
Rd), and the polling location for Precinct 122 is Lake Wylie
Elementary School (13620 Erwin Rd) for the September 10 Primary
only. (See MAP.)
Eligible voters may register
and vote during
Early Voting but must have registered by August 16 to vote on
September 10. The General Election is on November 5.
Voters may request an
Absentee Ballot now until September 3 and must return them to the
Board of Elections by September 10. See

Board of Education
At-Large (No Primary)
Voters will elect
at-large representatives to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of
Education in the November 5 General Election. This election is
non-partisan, and there will be no
primary. Board of Education members serve four year
staggered
terms. District representatives will be up for election in 2021.

A special election is being held in Congressional District 9, which stretches from southeast Mecklenburg County to
Bladen and Cumberland Counties. Steele Creek is entirely within
