Meet the Candidates for
North Carolina Senate District 41
(July
12, 2018) The two candidates for North Carolina Senate District 41
each are having separate Meet and Greet events in Steele Creek in July.
Incumbent Republican Jeff Tarte of Cornelius represents current
District 41, which includes northern Mecklenburg County, the eastern
edge of the county, and the southeast corner of the county,
including Matthews and Mint Hill.
The North Carolina General Assembly
adopted new districts in August 2017 after the previous districts
were ruled unconstitutional. New District 41 includes northern
Mecklenburg County, the western edge of the county, most of Steele
Creek, Pineville, and southern Ballantyne, as shown on the map to
the right.
Senator Tarte, along with Democrat Natasha Marcus of
Davidson, are the two candidates in new Senate District 41.

Election Day is
Tuesday, November 6. Early Voting will begin in late October at the
old Hollywood Video store in York Ridge Shopping Center at the
corner of S Tryon Street and Moss Road (11130 S Tryon Street). See

Steele Creek is split
between two new State Senate Districts: 37 and
41. Precincts 138, 147, and 228 are in Senate District 37. Precincts
122, 200, 229, and 243 are in Senate District 41. Precinct 230 is split,
with most of Berewick and other areas south of Shopton Road in
District 41 and the remaining area of Precinct 230 north of Shopton Road in District
37. Candidates for District 37 are Incumbent Democrat Jeff Jackson
and Republican Nora Trotman.
