2017 Primary is September 12 for Charlotte Voters
Mayoral Candidates Forum is August 19

Vote!(August 14, 2017) Voters who live within the Charlotte city limits may vote for Democratic and Republican Charlotte Mayoral candidates and Democratic Charlotte City Council At-Large candidates in the First Primary Election on Tuesday, September 12. The Mecklenburg County Board of Elections will publish early voting sites, dates, and times once approved by State.

Charlotte City Council District 3

All areas of Steele Creek within the Charlotte city limits are within Charlotte City Council District 3. There will not be a Primary Election for District 3 since no party has more than one candidate. The following candidates will appear on the November 7 General Election ballot:

Board of Education District 2

Voters will elect district representatives to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education in the November 7 General Election. This election is non-partisan, and there will be no primary. All of Steele Creek is in Board of Education District 2. Board of Education members serve four year staggered terms. Al-Large representatives will be up for election in 2019.

Absentee ballots (By Mail) currently are available. Use this link to download a State Absentee Ballot Request Form.

Early voting (Absentee In Person) will open Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 8 am. The Mecklenburg County Board of Elections will publish early voting sites, dates, and times once approved by State. See the Election Schedule below.

Mayoral Candidates Forum

The Steele Creek A.M.E. Zion Church and Precinct 147 are sponsoring a Mayoral Candidates Forum at Steele Creek A.M.E. Zion Church (1500 Shopton Road, Charlotte, NC 28217) on Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. All Charlotte mayoral candidates have been invited and most are expected to attend to discuss their platforms in conjunction with a Q & A Session. This is our opportunity to find out the candidates' positions on issues important to Steele Creek.

School Bonds

Additionally, the November ballot will have a $922 Million School Bond Referendum that will include funds to build a relief high school for overcrowded Olympic and other Steele Creek projects. See Vote Yes for School Bonds!
