Nature at Night
Festival is at McDowell Nature Center on October 15
(September 27,
2016)
The
McDowell Nature Center is presenting its Nature at Night
Festival on Saturday, October 15 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. This all ages
event costs $5.00 per person. Registration is required. Call 704-588-5224
to register. Space is LIMITED!

The festival will
feature unlimited wagon rides, storytelling, hot dog fixin's bar,
s'mores, live animals, night hikes, crafts and other activities, and
much, much more.
McDowell Nature Center is located in McDowell Nature Preserve,
which is on the western side of Steele Creek at Lake Wylie near the
Buster Boyd Bridge. Use the main entrance to McDowell Nature
Preserve off York Road across from Palisades Park Elementary School
to access the Nature Center.

McDowell Nature
Preserve covers 1,125 acres and features a campground and
primitive camping sites, fishing and boating access to Lake Wylie, eight
miles of hiking trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, and wildlife
viewing opportunities. The McDowell Nature Center is a
museum with live animals and nature displays that offers a variety of educational and other
nature
programs. The Nature Preserve and Center are two of the jewels of
Steele Creek!
Nature Center hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday
through Saturday and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sundays. The Nature Preserve is open from 7:00 AM to sunset daily
