Police to Hold
Community Corners Event on July 16 at RiverGate
(July
8, 2016)
The
Steele Creek Division of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police
Department will be hosting a Community Corners event on Saturday
July 16, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It will take
place at the RiverGate Shopping Center within the Best Buy and
Chick-fil-A parking lots. (Best Buy's address is 14125 River Gate Parkway.)
This event was rescheduled due to a forecast of rain on its original date
of May 21.
Divisional officers,
Charlotte City Council District 3 Representative LaWana Mayfield, and a
variety of city and county agencies and other
organizations will be in attendance. You will get the chance to speak to representatives of
- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (Steele Creek Division)
- Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office
- Charlotte Fire Department (Station 37)
- CMPD Animal Control
- Code Enforcement
- Charlotte Mecklenburg Library
- Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department
- YMCA
- Goodwill
- CPI Security
- Steele Creek Athletic Association
Food will be available through Chick-fil-A. CMPD will be giving
those in attendance tickets that can be redeemed for a free meal at
the RiverGate Shopping Center Chick-fil-A location. More information
and restrictions will be available the day of the event.
Music will be provided by "With These Handz DJ Academy."
Officer Dan Redford, Community Coordinator
for Response Area 2, said "These Community Corners events are a great way for us to bring various resources to our community in a large-scale, multi-agency approach. These events give us the opportunity to address any and all issues you may have as well as introduce you to opportunities otherwise unknown."
