Reserve a Spot for
your Float in the Lake Wylie Winter Parade
23, 2015) For over twenty years,
Lake Wylie Elementary School
has hosted a Winter Parade. The goal of the Winter Parade is to
celebrate the season with the school's community partners and to showcase
the dedicated staff and talented students in the southwest feeder
pattern. The theme for this year's Winter Parade is "Board Games and
Apps." Each class, school, or organization interprets the theme by
dressing in costume and decorating a float.
Parade is led by a Grand Marshall. This year, the Grand Marshall
will be Superintendent of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Ann Clark. The
Olympic High School Marching Band and Cheerleaders are always
This year, the Winter Parade will be on Saturday, December
12th. The Parade will begin promptly at 11:00 am. The parade begins
at Lake Wylie Elementary School, winds through The Crossings
neighborhood along Moss Road, and ends at Good Shepherd Church.
Lake Wylie Elementary School is inviting other schools,
businesses, and organizations to participate in the 2015 Winter Parade.
While participation is free, registration is required by
Floats can be created using a truck, trailer,
or even a boat! Students must be accompanied by adults on the float
or walking next to the float. Businesses are welcome to advertise in
the parade. Parade participants will be allowed to toss out candy to
spectators. Some local media participation is expected. All parade
participants should park their cars at The Rock Worship Center at
13725 Erwin Road and walk to Lake Wylie Elementary. Participants
should arrive at their floats by 10:30 am. Float Decorating will
begin at 10 am. Spectators sit along the sidewalk on Moss Road to
cheer for our excited students and staff. School principals are
invited to ride along in the parade!

In order to avoid duplicating
floats and costumes, each business, organization, or school should
enter a description of each of their floats on the Google
Spreadsheet linked below. Please use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. This is
first come, first served. Please do not duplicate floats.
