Steele Creek
Residents Association Annual Meeting is February 27
(December
29, 2013) The
2014 meeting of the Steele Creek Residents Association will be on
Thursday evening, February 27 at Christ the King Church (13501 South
Tryon St).
There will be a pre-meeting from 6:30 to 7:00 when attendees can
meet, mingle, and
learn about non-profit groups and local government agencies that
have set up displays with information about their services and programs.
Beginning at 7:00 speakers will address several issues important to
Steele Creek
residents.
Staff of
Charlotte-Douglas Airport will discuss airport
expansion, property acquisition, and road relocations on the
south side of the airport, as well as how flight patterns and
upgrades to navigation systems affect airplane noise in Steele
Creek neighborhoods.
Robert Cook,
Charlotte
Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) Secretary,
will give an update on the status of the possible widening of State Highway 160 (Steele Creek Road).
CRTPO is in the process of setting priorities and identifying
funding for highway projects in its
2040 Metropolitan Transportation Plan. |

Christ the King Church is located at 13501 South Tryon St,
just southwest of CMC-Steele Creek. From the intersection of
S Tryon St (Hwy 49) and Steele Creek Rd (Hwy 160), continue
southwest on S Tryon St through the traffic signal at
Steelecroft Pkwy. Take the next left into the Christ the
King parking lot. Follow the signs to the meeting. Click

Chris Thomas of
Childress Klein Properties will give an update on the
progress of the new Charlotte Premium Outlets and of the
RiverGate expansion and also discuss planned road improvements near
the outlet mall.
There will be more
meeting and mingling after 8:00.

non-profit community organization or government agency that operates
out of Steele Creek or provides services in Steele Creek and would
like to share
information about your activities with your Steele Creek neighbors,

info@steelecreekresidents.org. Tables will be available
for you to spread out
displays, brochures, and other information.
Although attendees can sign up for membership in the Residents
Association (for $10),
membership is not required for attendance. Everyone interested in
Steele Creek is
welcome.
This will be a great opportunity to learn more about what's going on
in Steele Creek
and catch up with folks you may not have seen for a while.
