Steele Creek
Residents Association Annual Meeting is March 8
(February 12,
2012) The 2012 meeting of the Steele Creek Residents
Association will be on Thursday evening, March 8 at Southwest Middle
School (13624 Steele
Creek Rd, behind the library).
There will be a
pre-meeting from 6:30 to 7:00 when attendees can meet, mingle and
learn about non-profit groups and local government agencies who have
set up displays with information about their services and programs.
Beginning at 7:00 speakers will address several issues important to
Steele Creek Residents.
Randy Harris of the
City of Charlotte Economic Development, Charles Wilkerson of
the Arrowood Business Association, and a representative of the SouthWest Chapter of the
Charlotte Chamber of Commerce will discuss Creating Jobs in Steele Creek and other
business and economic issues.
Captain Allan
Rutledge, Commander of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's
Steele Creek Division, will talk about the new police station under
construction at the corner of S Tryon Street and Westinghouse
Boulevard, the public art that will be installed in front of the
station, and crime issues within the Steele Creek Community.
There will be more
meeting and mingling after 8:00.
If you are with a non-profit community organization or government
agency that operates out of Steele Creek or provides services in
Steele Creek and would like to share information about your activities
with your Steele Creek neighbors, please contact us at
info@steelecreekresidents.org. Tables will be available
for you to spread out displays, brochures, and other information.
Although attendees can sign up for membership in the Residents
Association (for $10), membership is not required. Everyone
interested in Steele Creek is welcome.
This will be a great
opportunity to learn more about what's going on in Steele Creek and
catch up with folks you may not have seen for a while.
