Rezoning Requested
for Hampton Inn on Steele Creek Road
(August 14,
2011) The owners of a property on Steele Creek Road north of Shopton
Road have filed a rezoning petition to allow construction of a
4-story, 91-room Hampton Inn hotel, including a 1,600 square foot
meeting room. (See
Rezoning Petition 2011-056.)
The site is currently
zoned R-3, and the petitioners are requesting O-2 (Conditional). The
property is adjacent to the Sullivans Trace neighborhood. The plan
includes construction of a road along the north edge of the property
that will connect to the Spring Drive stub in Sullivans Trace. the
site plan shows three tree save areas totaling 1 and a quarter
acres.
James McGovern and
Associates, Consulting Engineers, is holding a community meeting on
Thursday, August 25 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the community meeting
room at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, 7407 Steele Creek Road.
The purpose of the meeting is to present information about the
rezoning request and to answer questions.
The public hearing is
scheduled at the City Council meeting on September 19.
