(June

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Staff will continue to receive
comments and discuss updates and corrections to the
Draft Steele Creek Area Plan at a Citizen Advisory Group
(CAG) meeting on Thursday, June 9 beginning at 6:00 P.M. in the
Carolinas Medical Center Steele Creek Community Room, CMC Steele
Creek is located at 13640 Steelecroft Parkway, just west of
RiverGate. The Community Room is located in the right rear of the
building.
Planning staff have been developing a draft response to public
comments received on the draft plan. Staff met with the Citizen
Advisory Group on Thursday, May 5 to begin discussing the comments
received on the draft plan. (See
Steele Creek Draft Area Plan Public Comments May 5, 2011
for the comments received before the May meeting and the staff
responses.)
The remaining schedule for the Steele Creek Area
Plan depends on the outcome of the June 9 meeting. An additional CAG
meeting may be scheduled after June 9 if needed. Staff will suggest
that meeting take place on June 30. The remaining schedule will be
determined depending on the outcome of the June 9 CAG meeting.
The public
will have an opportunity to comment on the draft plan before the
City Council, and it still must be approved by the City Council and
the Planning Committee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning
Commission.
The June 9
meeting is one of the final opportunities for the community to
provide input into the Area Plan that will guide development in
Steele Creek long into the future. Although the meeting is for the
CAG, it is a public meeting and open to all interested persons.
