Steele Creek Area Plan Community Meeting is March 31 (March 19, 2011) The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Department will hold two meetings to present and receive comments on the draft Steele Creek Area Plan. The meetings will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Police and Fire Training Academy—1770 Shopton Road. The 6:00 p.m. meeting will be a repeat of the 4:00 p.m. meeting.
The Planning Committee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission will receive public comments on the draft Steele Creek Area Plan on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center - 600 East Fourth Street, 8th Floor - Uptown Conference Room. The final plan will be presented for approval by the Charlotte City Council later this spring. The full draft plan is available on the Steele Creek Area Plan web page. The plan was developed over a period of almost a two years, beginning with public kickoff meetings in July 2009 and continuing through meetings of the Citizens Advisory Committee and community workshops.
