Steele Creek Area
Plan Community Meeting is March 31
(March 19,
2011) The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Department will hold two
meetings to present and receive comments on the draft
Steele Creek Area Plan. The meetings will be held on
Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Police
and Fire Training Academy—1770 Shopton Road. The 6:00 p.m. meeting
will be a repeat of the 4:00 p.m. meeting.

The
Planning Committee of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning
Commission will receive public comments on the draft Steele
Creek Area Plan on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center - 600 East Fourth Street,
8th Floor - Uptown Conference Room.
The final plan will
be presented for approval by the Charlotte City Council later this
spring.

The plan was
developed over a period of almost a two years, beginning with public
kickoff meetings in July 2009 and continuing through meetings of the
Citizens Advisory Committee and community workshops.
