STEELE CREEK NEWS
Volunteers Needed
to Help with Library Classes and Programs
(October
16,
2010) The
Steele Creek Library staff continues to provide excellent
service to the residents of Steele Creek despite reduced hours and
resources. The staff has recently declined from 21 to 9 people, and
they are unable to provide the classes and programs that they once
did.
Steele Creek Library
Manager Rhonda Pinkney says that the library has needs for
volunteers to teach classes and run programs. Area residents have a
variety of skills and expertise, and Rhonda hopes that some of these
will be willing to share with library patrons. She's also interested
in ideas for classes and programs.
If you have an idea
for a class or program that you could lead, please contact Rhonda at
704-416-6800 or visit the library during normal hours.
Rhonda Pinkney has
been the manager of the Steele Creek Library since July. She
replaced Susan McDonald, who is now the manager of South County
Regional Library.
Rhonda has been a
librarian since 1983, working in a variety of locations, including
Fayetteville, NC and Leesburg, VA. She has worked for the
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library system since 1999. She is a resident
of Steele Creek and ecstatic to be serving library patrons from her
community.
