Riversweep on Lake
Wylie October 2
(September 26,
2010) The Lake Wylie Covekeepers and Catawba Riverkeepers will be
holding the 9th annual Lake Wylie Riversweep from 9:00 until noon on
Saturday, October 2, followed by a party at the Buster Boyd Access
Area and T-Bones on the Lake until 3:00.
Last year over 500
volunteers collected more than 4,000 pounds of trash from the Lake
Wylie shoreline. Organizers expect over 700 participants this year.
Meet at one of
eleven locations around the lake by 9:00 Saturday morning to receive
trash bags, work gloves, water, a Riversweep T-shirt, and an area to
work. The Steele Creek site is at Copperhead Island. (Wikimapia
