New Fire Station 38 Open House is June 27 (June 19, 2009) Fire Station 38 will have its open house on Saturday June 27 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Station 38 opened last September and is the newest fire station in Steele Creek. It is located at 12100 Shopton Road West near the Sanctuary at Withers Cove. This 3-bay station is staffed 24/7 with a four person Engine Company. Previously, they were in a temporary location nearby on Sledge Road. Fire Station 38 protects a growing residential community along with the commercial and industrial district found in the Westinghouse Blvd area. In addition to the fire station, they have a boat house to be used by the Fire Department and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Lake Patrol to provide emergency services on Lake Wylie.
