STEELE CREEK NEWS
Residents
Association Annual Meeting is February 19
(November 28, 2008; Rev,
January 31, 2009) The 2009 Steele Creek Residents Association annual
meeting is scheduled for February 19 at 7:00 PM at Southwest Middle
School (13624 Steele Creek Road - behind the library). The featured
speaker will be Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Rodney Monroe.
The theme of the meeting is "Our Children Deserve a Safe and Healthy
Steele Creek Community." Speakers from Steele Creek Athletic
Association, Carolinas Medical Center, the
Steele Creek YMCA, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and other local organization will talk about
health and activities for children and families.
The Association would like to promote activities for youth and
children that will help them stay active and learn new skills as
well as divert their attention from less desirable activities that
could lead them down the wrong path.
If anyone has a program that they'd like to promote at our annual
meeting, contact us at
info@steelecreekresidents.org. We plan to have tables set
up for brochures and other information. We will introduce all
participants, but
due to time constraints, we will not have time for individuals from
these organizations to speak directly at the meeting.
Annual dues are $10, but membership is not required for attendance.
All persons interested in the Steele Creek community are welcome to
attend. This year, all dues income will be donated to the Steele
Creek Youth Network, a program for at-risk youth run by Officer Lisa
Speas of the Steele Creek Division of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg
Police.
We hope to see
you there!
Please feel
free to print this
FLYER, distribute it among friends, co-workers, and
volunteer organizations, and post it where others can see. We're
hoping for another big attendance this year.
