Early Voting
Begins October 22 at Steele Creek Library
(October 4, 2007)
Mecklenburg County
voters can vote early at the Steele Creek Library and other
libraries across the county beginning October 22. Early voting at
the Board of Elections office (741 Kenilworth Avenue) begins October
18.
The schedule at
Steele Creek Library is as follows:
Oct. 22 - 26 (Weekdays) 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Oct. 27 (Saturday) 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Oct. 29 - Nov. 2 (Weekdays) 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Nov. 3 (Saturday) 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Deadline)
County residents who
are not registered to vote may both register and vote during the
early voting period. This Same-Day Registration is available during
the early voting period only, not on election day.
Election Day is
Tuesday, November 6. Registered voters may vote at their regular
registered precinct on that day.
Offices on the ballot
are Charlotte Mayor and City Council (at-large and districts) and
the at-large seats on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education.
Areas of Steele Creek that are within the Charlotte City limits are
within City Council District 3.
Also on the ballot
are three bond issues and a referendum on the transit sales tax.
