Olympic Band Loses Funding Source, Needs Help (November 10, 2006) Olympic High School's Annual Trojan Classic band competition is a major source of funds for band activities. Unfortunately, this year's event, scheduled for October 28, was cancelled because of heavy rains that made the football field too soggy to handle a day-long usage by the 17 bands scheduled to compete. Ticket sales and concessions could have raised $15,000 or more to support band travel and competitions. Now, the band and its boosters must rely on alternate sources of funding.
