STEELE CREEK NEWS
Library Garden
Club to Have First Meeting on Tuesday, January 9
(January 4,
2007)
The Steele Creek Library Garden Club is having its first meeting on
Tuesday, January 9 at 7 p.m. at the library (13620 Steele Creek
Road). Monthly meetings will feature speakers and lessons on
gardening and lawn care.
The
library's children's garden looks pretty bland right now, but when
spring comes, bulbs, perennials, and other plants set out by library
supporters and employees last summer and fall will burst forth with
color. (See Steele Creek
Neighbors Complete Planting in Library Garden, August 31, 2006.) Not
only will the garden contribute to the library's aesthetics but it
also will be a great site for children's activities and other
events. A major function of the new garden club will be to help
maintain the garden.
This is a great
opportunity to learn more about gardening, meet your neighbors, and
help the community.
For details,
call the library at 704-588-4345.
