STEELE CREEK NEWS
Road Changes Cause
Changes to Berewick Master Plan;
Second Public Meeting is June 8
(June 1,
2006) The original plan for the Berewick neighborhood currently
under development in northwest Steele Creek included a Town Center
where the new Berewick Commons Parkway and relocated Dixie River Road
were expected to intersect. That plan has changed due to revised plans for
these roads
within and adjacent to the community. See
Berewick Moving Town Center to
Steele Creek Road (May 6, 2006).
The Town Center will
move to the current site of the Steele Creek Masonic Temple and the
Steele Creek Baptist Church, as shown on the map below. (To view an enlarged

The Charlotte
City Council originally approved rezoning for the Berewick plan in 2001. The
revisions require the developer of the project, Pappas Properties,
to go back through the rezoning process. (See
Rezoning Petition 2006-078.)
The Walter
Fields Group is holding a public meeting to present the rezoning
petition. The site plan and other materials to be presented at this
meeting are essentially the same materials that were presented and
discussed at a public meeting that was held at Mt. Olive Church a
few weeks ago.
The meeting
will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2006 at 7:00p.m. at the Steele
Creek Masonic Temple located at 9424 Steele Creek Rd.
The Charlotte
City Council will hold a public Hearing on the rezoning petition on
June 19.
If you have any
questions about the meeting or the petition, you may call The Walter
Fields Group at 704-372-7855.
